Box Score MURFREESBORO- The Chowan University men's soccer team saw a three game win streak come to an end on Thursday afternoon after dropping a 1-0 decision to the visiting Falcons of Pfeiffer University. The Hawks move to 3-1 on the season while the Falcons improve to 3-0 on the year after Thursday's contest.
Jaime Siaj put the Falcons on the board in the 22
nd minute of play, chipping Martim Galvao's pass into the far post near the crossbar to give Pfeiffer the 1-0 advantage. The score proved to be enough for the victory as Chowan battled but was unable to find the back of the net for the remainder of the contest.
Chowan tallied 18 shots over the course of the competition, six of which were on goal.
Jason Bradbury tallied five shots followed by
Terell Williamson with four shots and two on goal. Nicholas Dulac made six saves in goal to earn his first shutout of the season for Pfeiffer.
Marco Lujan faced 24 total shots in Thursday's game, 11 of which were on frame. He played brilliantly in goal, keeping the Hawks in the game by tallying nine saves. Siaj led the effort with nine shots for Pfeiffer, five on frame, followed by Nathan Regis with eight shots and four on goal.
The Hawks return to action on Sunday, September 13
th as they take on Seton Hill University. Match time is slated for 1:00pm.
