Box Score 1 | Box Score 2 PETERSBURG, VA- The Chowan University volleyball team picked up two CIAA crossover wins on Saturday at the CIAA Round-Up.  The Hawks opened the first day of play with a 3-0 win over Livingstone College and defeated Johnson C. Smith University 3-0 in their second match of the day.

 Chowan advances to 16-5 overall win the victories and remains perfect in league play with a 13-0 mark.

In the first match of the day, the Hawks defeated the Lady Blue Bears of Livingstone College 25-15 in the first set, 25-12 in the second set and 25-22 in set three.

Suraya Chase paced the Hawks with 11 kills in the win while Ashley Tutherow and Morgan Spencer chipped in six and five kills, respectively.   Becca Page tallied 14 assists while Lindsey Denne dished out 11 assists in the victory. Cindry Ehrich accounted for 14 digs.

Jekisha Rhymes paced the Lady Blue Bears with seven kills in the setback while Lareecia Swiney notched five kills to aid the effort.  Stevee Cotton tallied 12 assists with Shantell Billups grabbing nine digs. 

The Hawks built on the momentum in the second contest of the afternoon.  Chowan opened play against Johnson C. Smith with a 25-13 set one win and followed up with a 25-18 victory in set two.  The Hawks rolled to a 25-5 win in the third set to clinch the 3-0 match victory.

Spencer notched a team-high nine kills in the win with Chase tallying eight kills.  Tutherow added seven kills for the Chowan Blue and White while Denne and Page notched 17 and 13 assists, respectively.  Ehrich hauled in a team-high 10 digs followed by Chase win nine digs.

Makayla Adams and Anteesha Smoots notched five kills apiece for the Golden Bulls while Shanae Hughes handed out 10 assists.  Raven Bandy and Adams accounted for nine and six digs, respectively. 

The Hawks conclude play at the CIAA Round-Up on Sunday with an 11am match against Winston-Salem State University.
