Box Score BUCKHANNON, WV- The Chowan University men's soccer team dropped a 1-0 decision on the road against West Virginia Wesleyan on Saturday afternoon. The Hawks post a 7-7-3 overall record with the loss while the Bobcats advance to 8-7-3 after Saturday's contest.
West Virginia Wesleyan tallied 15 shots in the win. Jordan Halpern led the effort with five shots followed by Josh Spencer with three shots. Jens Demul and Alex Zidani each chipped in two shots apiece while Olajuqon Akintunde, Dominic Okus and Pavle Milicevic each recorded one shot apiece over the course of the competition. Luka Pauk collected four saves in goal to earn the shut out win for the Bobcats.
Chowan recorded seven shots in Saturday's loss.
Christian Funes and
Terell Williamson each tallied two shots as
Tre Bonaparte,
Francisco Ferrus and
Swann Vincent each tallied one shot each.
Marco Lujan made 11 saves in goal for the Chowan Blue and White.
After a scoreless first period, the Bobcats got on the board six minutes into the second period when Okus found the back of the net for West Virginia Wesleyan. Paul Smith was credited with the assist on the play.
The Hawks look to recover on November 7
th when they travel to Columbia, South Carolina to compete against Columbia International University. Game time is slated for 3:00pm.
