Box Score MURFREESBORO – The Chowan University Hawks moved to 2-0 in CIAA play after a thrilling four-set victory over Fayetteville State University in cross over play on Saturday night. 

The Hawks clawed their way to  25-20, 21-25, 25-20, and 25-23 victories to go undefeated on the day. Fayetteville State moves to 1-2 overall and 1-1 in league after Saturday's play.

Chowan tallied 48 team kills led by Nikira Fults who had 16 kills. Suraya Chase tallied 10 kills and Melanie Chausee added nine kills. Allison Smith set up 43 assists and Cindy Ehrich had 17 digs for the Hawks.

For Fayetteville State, Samira Luis tallied a match-high 17 kills. Leah Mackley had 38 assists and Shavon Shaw had 15 digs.
