ELIZABETH CITY, NC- The Chowan University women's tennis team topped Elizabeth City State University 9-0 on Thursday afternoon in CIAA Northern Division play. The Hawks improve to 17-7 on the season with the victory and stay perfect in league play with a 10-0 mark. 
 
The Hawks swept the Lady Vikings in both singles and doubles play and blanked Elizabeth City State in every set.  Natalya Kamenshchikova/ Holly Stambaugh teamed up for a doubles win in the number one slot while Breanne Johnson/ Straffai Cleveland and Jessica De Backre/Jennifer Humphrey topped their opponents in the second and third spot respectively. 
 
Chowan made quick work of Elizabeth City State in singles play as Kamenshchikova, Johnson, Stambaugh, De Backre, Cleveland and Humphrey shut out their opponents. 
 
The Hawks return to action on April 5^th when they travel to Raleigh, NC for a CIAA crossover match against Winston-Salem State University.
