HILTON HEAD, SC- The Chowan University women's tennis team earned a 9-0 victory over Roosevelt University on Sunday afternoon.  The Hawks improve to 7-4 with the win while the Lakers move to 0-3 on the young season.
 
The Hawks swept Roosevelt in both doubles and singles competition.  Natalya Kamenshchikova/Holly Stambaugh topped Claudia and Michelle Beczarski 8-3 while Straffai Cleveland/Jennifer Humphrey defeated Crystal Nguyen/Vivian Rodriguez 8-2.  Jessica De Backre and Natalia Andrade earned a doubles win by forfeit. 
 
Chowan cruised through singles play with Kamenshchikova, Johnson, Stambaugh, De Backre, Andrade and Cleveland each easily defeating their opponents to secure the 9-0 victory. 
 
The Hawks return to action on March 11^th when they take on St. Joseph's University (IN) at 12:00pm in Hilton Head, SC.
