Box Score MOUNT OLIVE, NC – The Chowan University women's lacrosse team dropped a 21-4 decision at the University of Mount Olive on Friday evening. The loss starts the Trojans off with a 1-0 record while Chowan begins the season 0-1.
Mount Olive made good on 21-23 shots on goal in the victory and had nine different Trojans score in the win. Katie McGovern tied the school record with five goals in her first college match. Riann Daziel followed with four goals while Michelle Scannell and Michelle Fortier each tallied three in the win.
Mackenzie Reid scored all four of Chowan's goals. She scored an early goal in the first half and scattered three additional goals in the second half. The Hawks combined for nine shots on goal in the loss, two in the first half and seven in the second half.
Mount Olive's offensive proved to be too much for the Hawks as they took a 13-1 lead at halftime before closing out the contest with the 21-4 victory.
