Tigers Down Hawks

Christian Funes had a shot on goal for the Hawks on Friday.
Box Score BRIDGEPORT, WV- The Chowan University men's soccer team suffered a 2-0 setback to Salem International University on Friday afternoon.  The loss drops the Hawks to 5-3 on the season while the Tigers improve to 6-3 on the year with the victory. 

The Hawks had eight shots in the contest, four of which were on goal, but were unable to find the back of the net.  Salem International had 12 shots, six on goal in the victory. 

Tomas Szabo put Salem International on the board with a header off of Javier Ruiz Paz's free kick.  With a 1-0 lead and eight minutes left in the contest, Ruiz Paz took advantage of a penalty kick to confirm the 2-0 decision for the Tigers. 

Chowan returns to action on October 6th when they travel to Misenheimer, North Carolina to take on Pfeiffer University.  The contest is slated to begin at 4:00pm.
