Box Score  RICHMOND, VA- The Chowan University volleyball team topped Virginia Union University 3-1 on Sunday afternoon in CIAA Northern Division play.  The Hawks advance to 19-5 on the season with the victory and improve to 12-2 against CIAA competition.  The Lady Panthers slide to 8-12 on the year and 7-5 in the league with the setback.  The Hawks' win was their second in as many days and also marked their seventh straight victory. 

After dropping the first set 25-22, the Hawks recovered to defeat Virginia Union 25-16, 25-19, and 25-18 in the following sets to earn the match win. 

Melanie Chaussee had 19 kills in the victory along with three blocks.  Suraya Chase had 17 kills followed by Nikira Fults with 15 kills and three blocks.  Cindy Ehrich hauled in 27 digs while Allison Smith tallied 54 assists and two service aces.

The Hawks return to action on October 25^th when they take on Cheyney University and Shippensburg University.  First serve is slated for 3:00pm and 5:00pm in Shippensburg, Pennsylvania.
