Griffins Outmatch Hawks

Box Score GREENSBURG, PA- The Chowan University men's soccer team suffered their second setback in as many days with an 8-0 loss to Seton Hill on Sunday afternoon.  The loss drops the Hawks to 0-4 on the year while the Griffins improve to 5-1. 
 
Dilveer Chaggar put the Griffins on the board at the 24 minute mark off an assist from Matt Sangermano.  Seton Hill struck again in the 36th minute off an unassisted goal from Manuel Mazo.  The Hawks were unable to answer back in the half, and trailed 2-0 heading into halftime.
 
Seton Hill dominated in the second half as six of their eight goals came after halftime.  One minute into the second half, an assist from Bovey Masiole led to a goal by Joe Tchimou for the Girffins. 
 
Fifteen minutes later, at the 60 minute mark, Trevor Martz went to work, scoring a hat trick with goals in the 60th, 61st, and 69th marks respectively.  Ben Alport and Harry Jawanda assisted the first two goals, with the third score for Martz coming on a penalty kick. 
 
Seton Hall scored twice more before the contest was up.  In the 82nd minute Joe Smith found the back off the net after an assist from Mazo.  Five minutes later, Jacob Thiel confirmed the 8-0 win with an unassisted goal. 
 
Jax Eddleman made seven saves in goal for the Hawks.  Grayson Smith collected five saves in 20 minutes of play. 
 
The Hawks return to Murfreesboro to host Salem International University on September 24th.  Game time is slated for 1:00pm.
