Lady Lions Top Hawks

Karen Keteltas scored a goal for the Hawks on Sunday.
Box Score LINCOLN, PA- The Chowan University women's soccer team suffered a 3-1 setback to the Lady Lions of Lincoln University (PA) on Sunday afternoon.  The Hawks fall to 1-12 on the season while the Lady Lions improve to 7-3-1 after the victory. 
 
Lincoln (PA) got on the board in the 13th minute of play when Tara O'Brien sent in Haley Hendricks' assist for the 1-0 lead.  Hendricks found Emily Woodruff in the 24th minute to give the Lady Lions a 2-0 advantage in the first half. 
 
Hendricks notched a goal of her own three minutes after halftime with an unassisted score to extend Lincoln (PA)'s lead to 3-0.  In the 51st minute, Karen Ketaltas found the back of the net with an unassisted goal, but it was not enough to overcome the deficit.
 
Lincoln (PA) out-shot the Hawks 27-6 on the afternoon.  Jennifer Harvell hauled in 10 saves in goal for Chowan. 
 
The Hawks return to Murfreesboro to play their final five games of the season at home.  Chowan will entertain Belmont Abbey on October 16th in a 3:00pm contest at Hawks Soccer Field.
