NEWPORT NEWS, VA -- The Chowan University women's tennis team lost 6-3 to Christopher Newport University here on Tuesday.  Getting singles wins for the Hawks were their top two players, Inesa Asatryan and Natalya Kamenshchikova, who also combined for a victory in doubles.

The Hawks record drops to 0-7 while the Captains start off their season 1-0 with the win.

Chowan travels to play Averett University on Friday.
