Box Score MURFREESBORO - The Hawks handed Concord University a 3-1 loss in their final match of the day to finish runner up at the 2011 Janet Collins Invitational. Karina Monroe and Tori Lewis tallied 13 kills each and were named to the All Tournament Team for their two-day performance. Barton College went 3-0 over two days to take home the championship title. Chowan out hit the Lions 50 to 34 in the match to move to 2-1 on the season.

Chowan won with final scores of 24-26, 25-13, 28-26, and 25-16. Monica Ruffin ended the match with seven kills, six aces, and nine digs while Megan Sawyer added seven kills and 11 digs. Callie Armistead had 22 assists and three aces while newcomer Allison Smith had 18 assists.

The Hawks will travel to the University of Charleston (WVa) next weekend to play in their tournament.
