MURFREESBORO - The Chowan University men's soccer program fell to 0-5 on the season after suffering a 3-0 loss to Methodist University this afternoon. The Monarchs out shot the Hawks 25 to 10 in the match and scored three first half goals to help propel them to the victory. Chowan held them out of goal in the second period but could not recover offensively to threaten the Monarchs. Methodist improves to 4-1-2 on the year.

MU's Jeff Fallier scored the first goal of the game when he rolled a ball past Chowan's keeper off a corner kick just under the 5:00 mark of the first half. Eirik Nordseth recorded goals at the 19:37 and 39:52 marks to ice the 3-0 for Methodist.

Josh Gross tallied a team-high four shots for Chowan and Ethan Phelps had four stops in goal.

The Hawks will travel to Mount Olive College in their next outing on Saturday, September 24th. After three straight road games the Hawks will return home on October 8th to host Bluefield College.
