MURFREESBORO – Despite scoring the first goal of the game, the Chowan University Men's Soccer team fell to UNC-Pembroke on Saturday, 10-1. Chowan is now 0-3 on the season, while UNC-Pembroke remains unbeaten at 4-0.

 

Biez Neto put the Hawks on the board in the third minute with a goal from only three yards out, but the Braves quickly responded with two goals in the next minute and a half to take a 2-1 lead, which they would not relinquish.

 

The Braves would score three more goals in the first period to take a 5-1 lead at intermission. The second period was much like the first, as the Braves scored five goals to earn the 10-1 victory. Kenny Moore and Brandon Chambers each had an assist on Neto's goal. Moore recorded a team high three shots. Martin Tomter led the Braves with three goals on eight shots.

 

The Hawks return to action next Friday, September 16^th, when they host Salem International University at 2:00pm.
