FAIRMONT, WV - The Chowan University volleyball team moved to 0-4 on the year after dropping two matches in day two play of the Fairmont State Falcon Fest today. The Hawks suffered two losses on the first day to West Liberty State and Point Par,k, both in straight sets. Chowan fell with final match scores of 3-0 to Fairmont State and 3-1 to Concord University today. 

Fairmont State handed a 25-16, 25-16, and 25-19 match loss to Chowan in the early match of the day. Victoria Lewis and Karina Monroe each had 10 kills in the match. Monroe also had 6.5 blocks. Callie Armistead had 23 assists. 

Chowan kept it close against Concord but fell 3-1 with set scores of 19-25, 25-15, 23-25, and 20-25. Lewis tallied 15 kills while Tiffany Chambers had a team-high 18 digs. Armistead collected 19 assists while Charla Hughes had 17 assists. 

Chowan (0-4) will host Saint Pauls College on Tuesday in their home season opener. Match time is set for 6:00pm.
