Box Score MURFREESBORO - The Chowan University volleyball team improved their overall record to 8-5 and their CIAA record to 8-1 after sweeping Virginia State University 3-0 in CIAA North Division action this evening. Chowan recorded 43 team kills in the win while the Lady Trojans had 17 total kills. Victoria Lews led the way for the Hawks with 17 kills on the night. 

Chowan won with final set scores of 25-16, 25-14, and 25-20. For Virginia State, Jasmine Davis had six kills in the match to lead the Lady Trojans. Virginia State moves to 5-10 on the year and 5-5 in the league play.

Along with her 17 kills, Lewis also had three service aces and six digs. Karina Monroe had nine kills in 12 attempts and Callie Armistead collected 23 assists. 

Chowan will host Lincoln University and North Greenville University in a tri match tomorrow. The first match is set to start at 11:00am.
