MURFREESBORO - Elizabeth City State University beat the Chowan University women's tennis team with a final match score of 8-1 on Thursday afternoon. Chowan's Kashae Beverly won the only match for her team on the singles side with a 6-4, 7-5 victory in the #2 singles spot. The Hawks move to 8-11 on the year and 7-7 in the CIAA. Chowan is currently in 3rd place in the West Division behind Shaw and Johnson C. Smith. They hit the road for matches with Shaw on Friday and Saint Augustine's on Saturday.
