MURFREESBORO - Third Year Head Football Coach
Tim Place will lead his football squad onto the field Saturday, April 24th for their annual Blue and White Spring Football game. Kick off for the scrimmage is slated for 3:00pm and will be head on the Hawks practice field located behind the Helms Center.
"Saturday's Blue and White game will be a culmination of 15 spring practice sessions," stated Place. "Everyone will hopefully see a solid effort with our young men competing hard and having fun."
The Hawks are coming off a 5th place CIAA West Divisioin finish after going 2-8 overall and 2-5 in CIAA play. They open the 2010 season on the road at Lenoir-Rhyne University in a 7:00pm match up on August 28th.
The Hawks have had a solid off season work out and in Place's eyes are heading in the right direction. "We are better this spring in many regards to student-athlete development than we were a year ago. Our strength and conditioning program is much improved with Coach Henderson taking the lead in that area," said Place. "It's a process but these young men are buying into what we are doing in the classroom, in the weight room, and on the field."
Place and his staff will host a coaching clinic before Saturday's scrimmage. For more information log onto
