NEWPORT NEWS, VA -- The Chowan University women's tennis team lost their first match of the year with a 9-0 setback against Christopher Newport on Tuesday.  The Hawks begin their season with an 0-1 record while the Captains improve to 1-0.

Chowan travels to play Johnson C. Smith and Livingstone this coming weekend.
