Box Score CHARLESTON, SC - After playing to a 26-26 tie at the halftime break, The Citadel used a 41 point second half to edge Chowan 67-53 in non-conference court action this afternoon. The Hawks fall to 1-7 on the year after today's loss. The Citadel (5-7) dominated the glass in the game, hauling in 52 rebounds to Chowan's 35 rebounds. They scored 34 points in the paint and 15 put back points to help pull away in the second half to give Chowan their seventh loss of the season. Playing in his first game of the year, CU's Quinton McDuffie posted a team-high 16 points and 11 boards.

The normally hot shooting Hawks were held to 35% shooting today after hitting 20-58 from the floor. McDuffie was the only Chowan player to net double figures but both Charles Rhodes and Travis Williams chipped in nine points each.

The Hawks will host Johnson C. Smith University in their first CIAA game of the year on January 6th. Tip off for the game is slated for 7:30pm at the Helms Center.
