Four Hawks Earned College Sports Communicators Basketball Academic All-District Honors

GREENVILLE, S.C. – The College Sports Communicators (CSC) Men's and Women's Academic All-District honorees were released on Tuesday morning. Conference Carolinas had 16 women's basketball student-athletes and nine men's basketball student-athletes recognized. In total, 25 Conference Carolinas individuals, from eight institutions were recognized.

For the women, Belmont Abbey College (3), Chowan University (2), Converse University (2), Ferrum College (3), Francis Marion University (1), University of Mount Olive (2), UNC Pembroke (2), Southern Wesleyan University (1) and had honorees. On the men's side, Chowan (2), Ferrum (1), Mount Olive (5) and Southern Wesleyan (1) all had individuals recognized.

Chowan University celebrated four honorees, with two representing the men's basketball team and two representing the women's. For the women's team, junior guards Alexandria James-Fearon of Toronto, Canada, and Daneesha Briggs of Wilson, North Carolina, earned recognition. Representing the men's team were senior William Hynes of Ballarat, Australia, and junior Joseph Lezeau II of Port St. Lucie, Florida.

WOMEN'S HONOREES | MEN'S HONOREES

The 2025-26 Academic All-District® Men's and Women's Basketball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. Student-athletes must have participated in at least 90% of games or started in 66% of contests, while maintaining a minimum 3.5 GPA on a 4.0 scale.

The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA. Academic All-District® honorees were considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America® ballot. Student-athletes selected as CSC Academic All-America® finalists are denoted with an asterisk and will advance to the national ballot to be voted on by CSC members. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America® honorees will be announced April 14 (men) and April 15 (women).

The Division II and III CSC Academic All-America® programs are partially financially supported by the NCAA Division II and III national governance structures to assist CSC with handling the awards fulfillment aspects for the 2025-26 Divisions II and III Academic All-America® programs. The NAIA CSC Academic All-America® program is partially financially supported through the NAIA governance structure.
