Hartly, DE – Jackson State's Casey Therriault and Chowan's
Ryan Simpson are the winners of week eight player of the week fan poll voting. Therriault, who is leading the Division I-FCS in passing yards per game (348.1), has won the HSRN Player of the Week honors three times this season. Each week during the season, HSRN's staff will select the top performances from all HBCU action and give the fans across the country a chance to vote for the Player of the Week. Simpson helped lead the Hawks to a 31-20 win over Saint Pauls last Saturday with 258 yards passing, two rushing touchdowns, and a touchdown through the air.
Simpson is the 3rd player in the program's history to garner the honor. Last season both CJ Westler and
Robert Holland were named HSRN's DII National Player of the Week.
HSRN developed the fan poll to get all HBCU alumni, students and fans involved with the national process and to also give everyone a chance to consistently keep up with the individual performances around the country. This web site and our broadcasts are designed to keep you abreast of all action around HBCU athletic competition.
