Box Score DURHAM, NC - Chowan's mens basketball team improved to 10-4 on the year after beating Tennessee Temple University 71-54 in day two play of the North Carolina Central University/BC Powder Classic. Tonight's win marked the team's sixth consecutive win and they remain unbeaten in the month of January. Chowan put three players in double figures and hit nearly half of what they put up from the floor in the game. The Hawks went 2-0 at the tournament.
Chowan cruised to a 30-22 halftime lead and scored 41 second half points after hitting 68% (15-22) from the field in the last twenty minutes of play.
Mark Brown scored a game-high 22 points to lead Chowan. He also had seven boards, four assists, and two steals in the win.
Lando Morrison had a double-double night with 17 points and 11 boards while
Jaleel Nelson hit for 15 points while dishing out five assists and grabbing three steals.
Chowan will host their first CIAA West Division game on January 21st when the Broncos from Fayetteville State come to town for a 7:30pm duel.
