Men's Soccer Falls to St. Andrews on the Road

LAURINBURG, NC - Marbin Escobar's goal in the 70th minute of today's men's soccer match at St. Andrews was enough to give his team a 3-2 win over the visiting Chowan Hawks. In a tough fought battle the Hawks fell in the final 20 minutes of the match to move to 0-4 on the season.

The Hawks scored two second half goals after trailing 2-0 at the half to knot the match at 2-2. Ali Abdi scored an unassisted goal in the 55th minute when he cleared the keeper's hands far post. Adam Smith knotted the game when he scored on a through ball from Chinedu Iwuora just minutes later. But Escobar's goal in the 70th was enough to hold off the Hawks in the match.

Chowan got off 15 shots in the match to St. Andrews' 19. The Hawks fall to 0-4 on the year after today's loss.

The Hawks will travel to Catawba College on September 16th in their next outing.
