MURFREESBORO - The women's soccer team rolled to 10-0 win over Lincoln University this afternoon, marking their third season victory and their second in as many games.
Ashley Bradford scored four goals in the win for Chowan. The Hawks totaled 45 shots in the match and held Lincoln to four total shots.
The Hawks scored in the 25th minute of the match when
Meredith McCarthy beat Lincoln's keeper for a 1-0 lead. Just over two minutes later McCarthy added another goal far post for a 2-0 lead.
Ashley Bradford gave the Hawks a 3-0 lead at halftime after hitting a header in off a
Clara Danzeisen corner kick at the 44:07 mark. Bradford went on to score four unanswered goals in the second period to put Chowan up 7-0. Danzeisen,
Alisha Terry, and
Lacy Crafton scored the last three goals for Chowan in the 10-0 win.
Danzeisen had five assists in the win to go with her goal.
Kristy Brown started in goal, allowing no goals.
Shauna Anderson played the second period in goal, getting one save for the Hawks.
The Hawks will play on Monday in the last day of the "Just for Kicks Classic". They will host Washington Adventist in a 2:00pm match.
