MURFREESBORO - Despite a valiant effort by the Hawks this afternoon they suffered a 3-1 loss at the hands of Southern Virginia to move them to 0-7 on the season. Chowan out shot the Knights 26 to 15 in the match but they couldn't seem to find the back of the net when it counted. Adam Smith scored Chowan's goal in the 60th minute but three earlier scores by SVU would be all they needed to solidfy their 3rd win of the season. 

SVU scored in the 3rd mintue of the match to gain a 1-0 lead. They added goals in the 34th and 56th minutes to get on top of Chowan 3-0. Adam Smith scored in the 60th minute for Chowan off a rebounded pass. The Hawks threatened to score for most of the second period, getting off 12 shots to SVU's five in the second half. But time ran out on the Hawks and it was Southern Virginia who came away with the 3-1 win. 

The Hawks will host the "Just for Kicks Classic" this weekend in their next outing.
