MURFREESBORO - With Saturday night's kickoff with Old Dominion looming, the Hawks are garnering the attention of many news and print media outlets nationally, regionally, and locally. The Hawks travel to Norfolk, Virginia on Saturday night for a 6:00pm match with the NCAA DI-AA program but the attention started months ago for many outlets. ODU is revamping their football program after more than 50 years of dormancy, making the game with Chowan history, as the Hawks are first up on their 2009 schedule.
The Virginian Pilot ran a front page sports section story on the football program and the match up today (
www.pilotonline.com) while Portsmouth based WAVY 10 traveled to Murfreesboro yesterday to do interviews with coaches and players. That segment will air tonight on WAVY 10 at 6:00pm and then again on WAVY's sister station, FOX 43 at 10:45pm.
The game will be televised on COX Cable in the Hampton Roads area. It will be broadcast on COX Chanel 11. It will also be made available live on other COX networks in Richmond, Roanoke, and Northern Virginia.
Foreman Field holds nearly 20,000, said to be sold out months ago. Kick off for the game is slated for 6:00pm. Follow the Hawks on Twitter at
