HAMPTON, VA - The volleyball team remains undefeated at the 2009 CIAA Round Up at the Boo Williams Sportsplex after winning three matches today. The Hawks have not lost a set in their four matches played since opening yesterday afternoon. The Hawks beat Saint Pauls College, Virginia State University, and Virginia Union University in straight sets to move to 9-4 on the year and 5-0 in CIAA play.

The Hawks beat Saint Pauls College with final scores of 25-7, 25-8, and 25-8. Chowan out hit the Tigers 48 to 10 in the match. Tori Lewis and Antoinette McCollough had 12 kills each while Karina Monroe tallied 11 kills. Callie Armistead had 35 assists in the win. The Hawks followed up their opening day win over Saint Pauls with a 25-8, 25-11, and 25-14 win over Virginia Union University. Desaray Turner and McCollough tallied 10 kills each in the win. Lewis added nine aces and seven digs to go with eight kills in the match. 

The Hawks rounded out the day with a straight sets win over Virginia State University. The Hawks won with final scores of 25-7, 25-15, and 25-17. Monroe tallied 11 kills while McCollough put down 10 kills in the win. 

Chowan will face off against Bowie State at 11:00am tomorrow and then play defending CIAA Champions, Elizabeth City State University at 3:00pm.
