MURFREESBORO - St. Andrews took a 3-0 match win over the Hawks this morning in second day play of the 3rd Annual Janet Collins Invitational. Both teams went into the match with a 2-0 record but it was the Knights who came out on top, winning with game scores of 25-13, 25-13, and 25-20.
St. Andrews put 25 of 63 total attempts down for points while the Hawks hit 22 of 83 with 23 hitting errors in the loss. Antoinette McCollough paced Chowan with 8 kills and 2 blocks while Karina Monroe and Desaray Turner each had 5 kills in the loss. Callie Armistead had 22 assists in the loss.
For St. Andrews Jessica Himalstein had 9 kills while Courtney McDonald had 12 digs.
The Hawks have one final match of the day against Lincoln University that will be played at 2:00pm.
