Box Score

LAURINBURG, NC - The baseball team suffered their first loss of 2007 after losing 5-4 to St. Andrews College. St. Andrews' Matt Harkness hit a walk off homerun to lead off the bottom of the 13th inning to end the marathon game. Today's event was originally scheduled to be a doubleheader but due to the length of game one, the second game was canceled.

Bryan Hill started the game, throwing 6 innings, scattering 5 hits, 3 runs, and striking out 2 St. Andrews' batters. Brandon Hamlett picked up the loss in relief and moves to 1-1 on the year. He gave up 4 hits over 6 innings while striking out 5 batters.

PJ Sadler paced the Hawks at the plate after going 4-6 with 2 RBI. Matt Bullock and Joey Ryder each collected 2 hits in the Hawks first loss of the season.

Chowan will host Virginia Intermont in a doubleheader on Saturday at 12:00pm.
