PETERSBURG, VA - The volleyball team opened their 2006 campaign with a 3-1 match loss to Virginia State tonight. The Hawks dropped the first two games 30-18 and 30-18 but fought back to win the third game 30-28. The Trojans came back to take the fourth game 30-13 for the eventual 3-1 match final.

Chowan tallied 25 team kills, paced by freshman Jazmim Orozco with 11 total kills. Christina Eteuati collected 8 kills while Whitney Perry had 17 assists in the loss. Eteuati and Jennifer Baugham each had 11 digs in tonight's loss. 

Chowan will host Roanoke Bible College on September 5th in their next home match at 7:00pm. Please note that this is a schedule change from the original schedule release. Chowan will travel to RBC on September 11th.
