Chowan Falls To Methodist In Season Opener

MURFREESBORO - The Braves and the Monarchs met on the field for their season opening game on the campus of Chowan College this afternoon. The Monarchs struck first in the match when Bryan Madej footed a goal (assisted by Sean Donnelly) just over one minute into the game. The Braves struck back when sophomore David Sheenan kicked his first goal of the season at the eight-minute mark in the first period. The Monarchs would score twice more in the first period behind the foot of Adam Tomas to take a 4-1 lead at the half. The Braves would be shut out in the second period as the Monarchs went on to win with a final score of 7-1. Scoring for the Monarchs in the second period were Tomas, Matt Sadler (PK), and Ryan Fife.
