MURFREESBORO - The Braves fell to 3-6 on the season after suffering another tough loss to Wesley College in the consolation game of the Fourth Annual Chowan College Shoot-Out 75-74. The Braves trailed by 12 at the half but made a run with 14:00 remaining in the second period behind the three-point shooting of guard Steve Harler. Behind by 2 points with 2:07 in the game, Dejuan Green spotted up for the trey and drained it to take the lead 74-73. Wesley scored a quick basket to go up by one with 00:23 seconds in the game. The Braves had one last defensive stand to hold Wesley with 00:09 seconds left but were unable to get the score for the win. The Braves were led by Steve Harler who had 21 points on 7 of 10 shots from the three-point arch. Bryan Christian had 20 points and Anthony Jones had 10 in the loss.
Lycoming Wins Fourth Annual Chowan Shoot-Out
In dramatic fashion, and what proved to be one of the best games in Shoot-Out history, Lycoming College pulled out the championship game in overtime over Virginia Wesleyan College 85-82. Paving the way for Lycoming was junior point guard
Thomas Wesner who poured in 27 points and dished out 6 assists. Chris Napier added 22 points and 5 rebounds while Matt Stackhouse had 19 points and 12 rebounds. For Virginia Wesleyan James Wallace had 21 points and was 7 of 13 from three point land. Marlins Ryan Kahle and Josh Fisher both had 15 points in the loss.
