Record Setting Weekend For The Braves

Box Score MURFREESBORO, NC - Senior wide receiver for the football team, Russell Dudley, broke the single-game reception record by catching 8 passes this weekend against Shenandoah. The previous record was held by Jeremy Forbes with 7 receptions in a game back in 1998. Dudley had 114 yards and one touchdown catch in the win against Shenandoah this weekend.

Junior tailback Jawarren Cowles reached a pinnacle this weekend after breaking the single-season rushing yards mark by hitting 767 yard mark. The previous mark was held by Johnny Nowell with 741 yards. Cowles rushed for 108 yards in this weekend's game against Shenandoah. The Braves have three games left to play on the season. Cowles is averaging 100.8 yards per game and has scored 7 touchdowns on the year. One more rushing touchdown for Cowles will give him another record for points in a season. Two more touchdowns on the ground and Cowles will break the single-season rushing touchdown record.

Senior QB Chris Stodghill broke the single-game touchdown passing record by passing four touchdowns in the Salisbury University game on October 6, 2001.
