The Chowan Braves will be looking for their sixth straight victory, dating back to last season, when they travel to Frostburg State University on Saturday, October 2nd....The game is slated for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at Bobcat Stadium in Frostburg....Chowan is coming off a 21-20 win over Newport News Apprentice....In that game, Tim Mitchell completed eight of 14 passes for 87 yards and one touchdown....Lamont Boone rushed for two touchdowns to up his league-leading total to six....Lamont Gaddy led the defense with 21 tackles, including two for a loss and one sack.
The Bobcats, under the direction of fourth-year head coach Ed Sweeney, are coming off a 24-10 victory over Methodist....In that game, Martin Mood caught two passes, both for touchdowns, while Jason Henry completed six of 19 passes for 123 yards and two touchdowns....Greg Cooper also had a big day, hauling in five passes for 60 yards and one score.

CHOWAN HEAD COACH STEVE LEE
Currently in his second season at the helm of the Braves program and his second season as a head coach, Lee led the Braves to a 5-5 overall record in 1998, their first non-losing mark as a four-year institution....Lee earned his first career coaching victory by directing the Braves to a 41-28 victory over Greensboro on September 12, 1998 in Greensboro, NC....Lee also serves as Chowan's director of athletics....Prior to being named head coach, Lee served as the Braves defensive coordinator for two seasons....The Braves third head coach in eight years, Lee landed in Braves Country from Waynesburg (PA) College, where he served as associate head coach and offensive coordinator....During his eight-year stint, the Yellow Jackets were nationally ranked several times....Lee has also served as an assistant coach at Fairmont State (1984-86) and Lock Haven University (1977-78)....Lee was the head football coach at University High School in West Virginia from 1979 to 1983....Lee is a 1978 graduate of Lock Haven University and earned his master's degree from West Virginia University in 1986....Lee and his wife, Doris, have two children....His son, Mark, is a football graduate assistant at WVU, while his daughter is a junior at Chowan.

Individually, Tim Mitchell is on top of the ACFC in passing efficiency (150.1), while Lamont Boone is second in scoring (12.0 pts. per game) and all-purpose yards (363); and is third in rushing with 309 yards.

Lamont Gaddy's 21 tackles set a new Chowan record for tackles in a game....The previous mark was held by Mark Long, who recorded 20 tackles in a game vs. Hampton University in 1993....With his next point, junior kicker Justin Trout will become the school's all-time leading points leader....His 82 career points currently have him tied for the career mark with Johnny Nowell (1993-96).
