The Chowan Braves will be looking to get back in the win column after three consecutive losses when they host Stillman College on Saturday, October 30th....The game is slated for a 1:00 p.m. kickoff at James G. Garrison Stadium in Murfreesboro....Chowan is coming off a much needed off week....Their last time out, the Braves lost to Ferrum, 17-7....In that game, the Braves were held to just 115 yards of total offense, while yielding 307 yards to Ferrum....Lamont Boone carried the ball 11 times for 28 yards, while Tim Mitchell completed five-of-nine passes for 31 yards and one touchdown....Defensively, All-American candidate Antwain Haskins had a monster day, recording 11 tackles, intercepting one pass, breaking up another, forcing a fumble and amassing 78 yards in returns.
The Tigers, who are in their first season of football since the 1950's, are coming off a 24-14 loss to Troy State's junior varsity team last weekend....Stillman outgained Troy St., 335-246, including holding Troy State to just 95 yards rushing....Stillman sacked Troy State quarterbacks seven times, including two by Brendan Given....Ricardo Thomas rushed for 131 yards and one touchdown....Drenzo Payne caught 11 passes for 135 yards.

The Braves and Tigers are meeting for the first time on the gridiron Saturday afternoon.
CHOWAN HEAD COACH STEVE LEE
Currently in his second season at the helm of the Braves program and his second season as a head coach, Lee led the Braves to a 5-5 overall record in 1998, their first non-losing mark as a four-year institution....Lee earned his first career coaching victory by directing the Braves to a 41-28 victory over Greensboro on September 12, 1998 in Greensboro, NC....Lee also serves as Chowan's director of athletics....Prior to being named head coach, Lee served as the Braves defensive coordinator for two seasons....The Braves third head coach in eight years, Lee landed in Braves Country from Waynesburg (PA) College, where he served as associate head coach and offensive coordinator....During his eight-year stint, the Yellow Jackets were nationally ranked several times....Lee has also served as an assistant coach at Fairmont State (1984-86) and Lock Haven University (1977-78)....Lee was the head football coach at University High School in West Virginia from 1979 to 1983....Lee is a 1978 graduate of Lock Haven University and earned his master's degree from West Virginia University in 1986....Lee and his wife, Doris, have two children....His son, Mark, is a football graduate assistant at WVU, while his daughter, Jennifer, is a junior at Chowan.
ABOUT STILLMAN
Under head coach Theophilus Danzy, Sr., football returns to Stillman College for the first time since the 1950's....The Tigers enter the game with a record of 3-4....Ricardo Thomas leads the way for the Tigers rushing attack, averaging 57 yards per game while running for six touchdowns....Antwan Blatch has thrown for three scores, while averaging 132 yards per game through the air.

Nationally, Chowan is ranked seventh in pass efficieny defense (71.0)....In the ACFC, Chowan is ranked first in pass defense (90 yds/g) and second is total defense (298 yds/g) and pass efficiency defense (71.0)....Individually, Justin Trout is tied for fifth in the nation with six field goals and is ranked 20th in the nation in field goals per game (1.0/g)....In the ACFC, Trout ranks first in field goals (6), second in kick scoring (5 pts/g) and third in field goal percentage (66.7)....Lamont Boone ranks second in the conference in scoring, averaging 7.2 points per game....Doug Leary is third in the ACFC is pass efficiency (119.6).

Devin Vincent has caught a touchdown pass in four consecutive games and six of the last seven....His six receiving touchdowns this season are a new Chowan record....The record was previously held by Chad Dunlow, who caught five in 1997....Vincent's seven career receiving touchdowns are one shy of the career mark held by Dunlow....Lamont Boone remains tied for the Chowan record for rushing touchdowns in a season with six....All-American candidate Antwain Haskins continues to play well in the secondary....He leads the Braves in passes defended (nine broken up, two interceptions)....Saturday is the final home game for Chowan's eight seniors....Saturday is also Hall of Fame Day at Chowan....Gary Tolley, Billy Edwards, Mike Grant, Alton Lowe and former NBA great Nate McMillan will inducted into the Chowan College Sports Hall of Fame in a ceremony on Saturday evening.
