Greensboro, NC – Freshman Lamont Boone carried the ball 16 times for 122 yards and two touchdowns to lead the Chowan ground attack which amassed 321 total yards, a new school record.
Chowan started quickly, taking a 21-0 when Mark Fowler ran it in from 17 yards out with 12:56 remaining in the first half. Greensboro answered back picking up two quick scores to pull within a touchdown, but as the horn sounded to end the first half Chris Dent found Jeremy Forbes from 37 yards out to put Chowan back on top by 14. Forbes finished with five catches for 77 yards and two touchdowns.
The Braves kept the momentum scoring twice in the third quarter. Boone scampered home from 50 yards out and Dent and Forbes connected again, this time for a nine yard touchdown.
Defensively, the Braves tied a school record with six interceptions. Thomas Davis led the way with six tackles and two picks.
