LANCASTER, S.C.- The Chowan University men's golf team closed out the 2026 Wolves Fall Intercollegiate on Tuesday, finishing fifth among the nine-team field at Edgewater Golf Club.
Sophomore Gabriel Ansley led the way for the Hawks, firing a final-round 69 to finish tied for first on the individual leaderboard alongside Savannah State's Woods. Ansley finished the three-round tournament with scores of 71, 67 and 69, closing the event at nine-under par.
Freshman Tanner Casey also put together a strong final round, carding a one-under-par 71, while Chance Lassiter finished even par with a 72.
As a team, the Hawks saved their best round for last, posting a 288 in the final round to improve by 12 strokes from Monday's second-round score of 300.

INSIDE THE CARDSÂ
Ansley carded six birdies during his final round, shooting a 33 on the front nine before closing with a 36 on the back for a three-under-par 69. His performance secured a share of first place and marked his first first-place finish of his collegiate career.
Casey recorded three birdies on his way to a one-under-par 71, finishing the tournament in 28th place.
Lassiter opened his final round with a one-under-par 35 on the front nine, highlighted by two birdies, before shooting a 37 on the back to finish even par at 72. He closed the tournament tied for 18th.
Jacob Kearney carded three birdies in his final-round 76, moving up one spot on the leaderboard to finish tied for 31st. Bjoern Holt rounded out Chowan's lineup with a final-round 78 to finish 41st.
Competing individually, Ruben Gamez-Aranda recorded two birdies and finished 38th, while Harry Jones closed out the tournament in 42nd place.
