HICKORY, N.C. – The Chowan University men's golf team opened competition at the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational on Monday at Lake Hickory Country Club, completing the first two rounds of play. The Hawks' A team sits tied for ninth, while the B team is 11th in a field featuring 15 schools and 80 golfers. Gabriel Ansley leads the A team individually, while Bryce Koehler paces the B team heading into Tuesday's final round.

INSIDE THE CARDS
Gabriel Ansley leads the Chowan A team individually, sitting tied for 24th after carding rounds of 75 and 73 for a two-round total of 148. Ansley improved by two strokes in the second round, recording five birdies on the day with four in the second round alone.
Bjoern Holt sits tied for 44th with a two-round total of 152 after recording consecutive rounds of 76. Holt recorded five birdies across the first two rounds. Corey Canning and Chance Lassiter are both tied for 51st with totals of 154. Canning carded a 79 in the opening round before improving to a 75 in the second round, recording four birdies over the two rounds. Lassiter followed an 82 with the A team's low round of the day, an even-par 72, and recorded seven birdies across the first two rounds. Ruben Gamez Aranda rounds out the A team with rounds of 82 and 79 with two birdies each round.
Bryce Koehler leads the Chowan B team, sitting tied for 39th with a two-round total of 151. Koehler opened with a 74 before carding a 77 in the second round, recording six birdies over the two rounds.
Harry Jones sits tied for 44th with a two-round total of 152. Jones improved from a 77 in the opening round to a 75 in the second round and recorded five birdies across the first two rounds. Tanner Casey and Teddy Fee are tied for 58th with totals of 156. Casey carded rounds of 74 and 82, recording three birdies in the opening round. Fee followed an 81 in the opening round with a 75 in the second round, recording three birdies across the two rounds. Jacob Kearney rounds out the B team with a two-round total of 159 after recording scores of 76 and 83 and tallying three birdies.

Chowan returns to Lake Hickory Country Club on Tuesday, October 27, for the third and final round of the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational. The final round will conclude the Hawks' fall season before they return to competition in the spring.
