HICKORY, N.C. – The Chowan University men's golf team wrapped up competition at the Lenoir-Rhyne Fall Invitational on Tuesday at Lake Hickory Country Club, closing out the fall season after three rounds of play. The Hawks' A team finished ninth, while the B team placed 11th in a field featuring 15 schools and 80 golfers. Gabriel Ansley led the A team individually, finishing tied for 20th overall, shooting a final round of 73, while Jacob Kearney recorded his lowest round of the tournament on the B team carding a 72.

INSIDE THE CARDS
Gabriel Ansley led the Chowan A team, finishing tied for 20th overall at five-over-par with a three-round total of 221. Ansley carded a 73 in the final round, recording three birdies to close out the tournament. Corey Canning finished tied for 42nd at 12-over-par with a final total of 228. Canning posted a 74 in the third round and recorded three birdies during the final round. Bjoern Holt finished tied for 52nd at 15-over-par after carding a 79 in the final round. Holt recorded three birdies during Tuesday's round to finish with a three-round total of 231. Ruben Gamez Aranda and Chance Lassiter both finished tied for 57th at 16-over-par. Gamez Aranda carded a 78 in the final round, recording one birdie, while Lassiter also posted a 78 and recorded one birdie. Both golfers finished the tournament with three-round totals of 232.
Bryce Koehler led the Chowan B team individually, finishing 40th overall at 10-over-par with a three-round total of 226. Koehler carded a 75 in the final round and recorded two birdies. Harry Jones finished tied for 50th at 14-over-par with a three-round total of 230. Jones posted a 78 in the final round and recorded one birdie. Jacob Kearney finished tied for 52nd at 15-over-par, carding an even-par 72 in the final round to finish with a three-round total of 231. Kearney recorded three birdies during Tuesday's round. Tanner Casey finished tied for 57th at 16-over-par with a three-round total of 232. Casey carded a 76 in the final round and recorded two birdies. Teddy Fee rounded out the B team, finishing 65th at 21-over-par with a three-round total of 237. Fee carded an 81 in the final round and recorded three birdies.

Chowan will return to competition in the new year on February 21-22 at the Bulldog Fall Classic as the Hawks begin their spring season.
