ROCKY MOUNT, N.C.- The Chowan University men's golf B and C teams closed out the annual Don Scalf Memorial on Monday afternoon at Belmont Lake Golf Club.
Both Chowan teams improved their scores in the second round of competition. The B team followed an opening-round 299 with a 295 in round two, while the C team made a nine-stroke improvement, moving from a 306 in the opening round to a 297 in the second.

INSIDE THE CARDS
Jacob Kearney led the B team with rounds of 70 and 75, opening the tournament at two-under par. Chance Lassiter made a strong second-round push, improving from a 77 in the opening round to a two-under-par 70.
Harry Jones opened with a 77 before cutting two strokes off his score with a 75 in round two. Ruben Gamez-Aranda remained consistent with rounds of 76 and 75, while Bryce Kohler carded rounds of 76 and 79.
Parker Brooks recorded one of the team's biggest improvements of the tournament, following an opening-round 84 with a 75 in the second round to cut nine strokes off his score.
Ben Gilchrist led the C team with rounds of 75 and 77, while Tanner Casey made a six-stroke improvement, moving from a 78 in round one to an even-par 72 in the second round. Corey Canning posted rounds of 76 and 79, while Teddy Fee improved from an 81 to a 77.
E.J. Procter finished with rounds of 76 and 81, while Randy Clark turned in the largest round-to-round improvement for Chowan. After opening with an 88, Clark cut 17 strokes off his score to fire a one-under-par 71 in the second round.
Competing individually, Jacob Lyles also made a strong second-round improvement, following a 97 with an 83 to cut 14 strokes off his opening-round score.
