MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Conference Carolinas office announced its Week 11 Softball Players of the Week on Tuesday afternoon following the Hawks three double headers.

Makenzi Curry was named Pitcher of the Week, after a 4-0 pitching performance.

PITCHER OF THE WEEK
Makenzi Curry | Chowan | Sophomore | Pitcher/First Base | Wilmington, North Carolina
Curry went 4-0 last week with a 0.70 ERA across 19.1 innings pitched, advancing to 11-7 on the season. She allowed just two hits in six innings to earn the win in Chowan's 3-0 victory over UNC Pembroke. She followed with 5.1 innings against King, allowing two runs (one earned) on seven hits in a 3-2 win. Curry closed the week with a pair of wins over Converse, beginning with a complete-game shutout where she allowed just two hits in a 4-0 victory. She then secured the final win of the week, tossing the last 1.2 innings in an 8-4 victory, allowing one run on three hits while striking out two.

The Player of the Week honor went to Southern Wesleyan University.

PLAYER OF THE WEEK
Megan Ware | Southern Wesleyan | Sophomore | Utility | Fuquay-Varina, North Carolina
Ware had a standout week, leading Southern Wesleyan to six wins. She hit .438 with seven hits, including two doubles, one triple, and one home run, while driving in seven runs and scoring 10 times. She recorded three hits and scored three runs in a game two win over Erskine, followed by a three-RBI performance highlighted by a home run. Ware closed the week with a pair of hits in a doubleheader sweep of Young Harris, driving in three runs in game one and scoring twice in each contest.
