MURFREESBORO, N.C. – The Division II Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) announced its 2026 Softball All-Region Teams on Monday afternoon. Chowan University senior pitcher Abby Rutledge earned D2CCA All-Southeast Region Second Team honors following a strong senior season for the Hawks.
Rutledge played a key role in Chowan's success during the 2026 season, helping lead the Hawks to a 32-20 overall record and a semifinal appearance in the Conference Carolinas Championship tournament. Primarily serving as a relief pitcher, Rutledge made 42 appearances while starting four games during the season.
In the circle, Rutledge posted an 11-3 record with eight saves and a team-leading 1.56 ERA across 125.1 innings pitched. She struck out 89 batters while recording her 100th career strikeout at Chowan and the 200th strikeout of her collegiate career during the season.
Defensively, Rutledge added 46 assists and six putouts from the circle, as her consistency and ability to perform in high-pressure situations helped earn her All-Region Second Team recognition.
