MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University baseball team rounded out their three game series with Emmanuel College on Saturday. The Hawks dropped a pair of games with finals of 16-0 and 8-2. Emmanuel took the series 3-0.

Game One
After a scoreless first inning, Emmanuel opened the scoring with a three-run top of the second inning. The Hawks couldn't quite get their offense going while the Lions added 13 runs in their final four at-bats to take game one 16-0.
Ahmaad Goldson picked up his first loss of the season on the mound. He struck out nine batters in 5.2 innings pitched. In the batting line up, he accounted for a double. Dawson Wiggins and Kelton Taylor pitched in relief of Goldson. Offensively, the Hawks tallied five hits as a team. Josh Tripp, KJ Durand Jr., Goldson, Jacob Howard, and Ty Boze each collected a hit in the game.
Game Two
Jacob Ellenburg drove in both Hawks runs in game two. He put in a 2-4 plate appearance while Jordan Turner went 2-2 and drew two walks. Josh Tripp opened the game on the mound, pitching 2.2 innings. He gave up two runs and struck out one. Zach Williams, Ethan Pukas, Matthew Lovitt, and Tristan Stancil each picked in relief of Tripp.

The Hawks will travel to UNC-Pembroke to face off against the Braves in a three-game series set to start on Friday, March 13th at 5:00 PM. Saturday's doubleheader will begin at 1:00 PM in Pembroke, North Carolina.
