Box Score 2 PEMBROKE, N.C. - The Chowan University softball team continued their Conference Carolinas games streak with a trip to UNC-Pembroke on Friday afternoon. The two divisional opponents battled over two games but it was the Braves who would prevail in the end. It took 8 innings in game one, with UNC-Pembroke producing a run in the bottom of the 8th inning to pick up the win. The Hawks fell 4-0 in game two, but held the Braves scoreless for 5 at-bats over seven innings.

INSIDE THE BOXSCORE
The Hawks out hit the Braves 5-3 in game one. Ava Mizell, Krya Helton, Hydee Kugler, Hope Soria, and Kyndal Hopkins each tallied a hit in the game. Mackenzie Curry pitched a lights out game, spreading out three hits and holding the Braves off the scoreboard for 7 innings. Curry moved to 3-2 on the year after game one.
Emily Fowler opened game two on the mound. UNC-Pembroke managed to manufacture three runs in their first at-bat to build an early lead over the Hawks. Chowan picked up four hits as a team led by Kyra Helton, went 2-2 at the plate. Abby Rutledge relieved Fowler on the mound holding the Braves to one run and two hits over 5.1 innings pitched.
