GREENWOOD, S.C. – The Chowan University golf team wrapped up competition at the Greenwood Men's Invitational on Tuesday, completing the third round of play at Greenwood Country Club.
The Hawks climbed three spots in the team standings, finishing tied for 11th place alongside Erskine after entering the day in 14th. The improvement came as the entire Chowan lineup posted stronger scorecards in the final round, including two golfers finishing under par.
Grand Valley State captured the team title to conclude the tournament.

INSIDE THE CARDS
Gabriel Ansley led the Hawks with a four-under-par 68 in the final round, recording six birdies over the final 18 holes. The strong outing moved him to five-under par for the tournament and secured a tie for 10th place individually.
Chance Lassiter followed with a one-under-par 71, finishing tied for 65th overall. The freshman tallied four birdies during his final round to close out the tournament.
Mika Buchholtz carded an even-par 72 to finish tied for 44th overall and second among the Hawks. Buchholtz also highlighted the tournament with a hole-in-one during Monday's opening round.
Adam Lankford posted a two-over-par 74 with two birdies to finish tied for 58th, while Bryce Koehler rounded out the lineup with a 75 (+3). Koehler improved on his scores from the first two rounds and shot even-par on the back nine.
UP NEXT
Chowan returns to action on March 16–17 with both squads competing in separate events. The B Team will travel to Virginia Beach, Virginia, for the Marlin Invitational hosted by Virginia Wesleyan. The A Team will compete in the Pitt-Johnstown Appalachian Collegiate, hosted by the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown at Blacksburg Country Club in Blacksburg, Virginia.
