SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Chowan University women's basketball team secured a dominant road victory over Converse University on Monday evening, defeating the Valkyries 88–58. Nyeisha Savage capitalized offensively, delivering a career-high performance to lead the Hawks. All Hawks found the scoring column in the victory, helping the team move to 15-8 overall and 13-6 in conference play.

Nyeisha Savage led all scorers with 28 points while shooting an efficient 77.8% (14-18) from the field, adding five rebounds, two blocks and a steal. Aquarius Pettaway recorded a double-double with 10 points on 4-6 shooting, a perfect 2-2 effort from the line and 11 rebounds, along with two assists and a steal. Ayanna Rutledge contributed eight points on 3-5 shooting and 2-2 from the stripe, dishing out four assists and collecting two steals.
Alexandria James-Fearon returned to action and posted six points, six assists, four rebounds and a block. Yamari Darden, Sa'ni Savage and Breya Busby each added six points, while Yasmine Brown finished with five. Keilani Johnson and Wisdom Banks chipped in four points apiece, Jade Clowney scored three and Daneesha Briggs added two to round out the balanced scoring effort. Banks and Brown also totaled six rebounds and three assists, while Darden secured five rebounds.
As a team, the Hawks shot 48% from the floor and dominated inside, scoring 54 points in the paint. Chowan also controlled the glass with 52 rebounds and received strong production from its bench with 31 points, while converting 17 points off turnovers, 14 fast-break points and nine second-chance points.
