FLORENCE, S.C. – The Chowan University men's basketball team defeated Francis Marion University in a 95-85 decision on Tuesday evening. William Hynes delivered a career-high performance knocking down six three-pointers, while six Hawks scored in double figures to outpace the Patriots. With Tuesday's victory, Chowan improves to 13-10 overall and 11-4 in Conference Carolinas play.

William Hynes led all scorers with a career-high 29 points, shooting 46.2 percent (6-13), 8-17 from the field, and 7-9 from the free-throw line. He added four assists, three rebounds, and three steals in a complete all-around effort. Eric Gordon Jr. followed with 14 points on four triples and dished out five assists, while Joseph Lezeau II added 13 points, seven rebounds, and four assists.
Damien Robinson finished with 11 points and a game-high 13 rebounds, adding three blocks and going 5-6 from the line. Markell Hollis contributed 11 points with three blocks and three steals, as Damerius Summers rounded out the double-figure scorers with 10 points, two assists, and two steals.
The Hawks shot 43.1 percent from the field and knocked down 11 three-pointers while converting 28-38 attempts from the free-throw line. Chowan controlled the glass with 37 rebounds, including 14 on the offensive end, leading to 20 second-chance points. The Hawks also capitalized on Francis Marion miscues, scoring 24 points off turnovers and adding 26 points off the bench.
