MURFREESBORO, N.C. - The Chowan University women's basketball team picked up a 70-52 win over Conference Carolinas division rival the University of Mount Olive on Wednesday night. Yasmin Brown poured in a game-high 21 points en route to their 5th win of the season.

Chowan's defense held the Trojans to a 35% shooting performance while offensively they nailed down 46% of shots taken from the floor. Brown's 21 points led all scorers in the game. Nyesiha Savage joined Brown in double-figures with 12 points. She also grabbed 8 rebounds in the win. Wisdom Banks chipped in 12 points and had two steals in the game. Chowan out rebounded the Trojans 47 to 32 and forced 13 UMO turnovers.Â
The Hawks led from the opening basket until the final horn in the game, getting up on the Trojans by as many as 20 points in the 4th quarter.Â
